LONDON, January 31 (newratings.com) - Analyst Theo Kitz of Merck Finck & Co maintains his "hold" rating on Deutsche Telekom (DTEL-EUR).

In a research note published this morning, the analyst mentions that according to Germany's media regulators, the company needs to have a license to broadcast Bundesliga soccer games on the internet. Deutsche Telekom is in talks with German pay-TV operator Premiere, which has a license, regarding the broadcasting, the analyst says. According to Deutsche Telekom's chief strategist, A Rautenberg, the company is also in talks with broadcasters RTL, ProSieben and Sat.1 regarding building a content consortium for high-speed internet broadcasts.
